An ode to Asian cooking, in the heart of Amsterdam.
Lucky Duck is a personal take on Asian cuisine, shaped by years of travel across Thailand, Vietnam, China, India and Japan. The menu reflects what we found on those trips: from market stalls to back-kitchen tables.
Inside, an open kitchen sits at the heart of the room. Two floors, softly lit, with an interior built in collaboration with friends, family and craftsmen. The kind of place that is easy to step into, and easy to stay at.
On the menu: sushi, robata grill, curries and crafted cocktails. Street-food classics next to more refined plates. All made to be shared, always grounded, never precious.
The people behind the table.

A few notes guests have left after a long evening with us.
I recently had dinner here on my own whilst on a business trip. I booked the chefs table and have to say the food was excellent. The chef was lovely, made me feel really comfortable dining alone and he explained all the dishes. The other staff were really friendly and helpful too. I highly recommend a visit!
Bon repas délicieux, bon service, belle presentation, belle ambiance. Meilleur restaurant de Amsterdam.
Absolutely delicious. Outstanding food ! 5 stars
This place is fantastic. The food and service were great. We ordered just about everything, and some things more than once. Really excellent!
So I just finished eating a half duck pancake style. I have eaten peking duck pancakes in London, Sydney, Stockholm and now Amsterdam. This was the best version I have had. Each slice of duck, when slightly pressured, juiced up. If you know meat, you know what I mean. Great food, service, people, music… total royal flush. Grateful. Oh… and the Old Fashioned top notch… 🤩
I had my 25th birthday dinner here. It was absolutely perfect. Our waiter, Bram, was fantastic. The food was amazing, as well as the ambiance. I highly recommend if you’d like sushi in Amsterdam.
This was the best meal I’ve had by far in Amsterdam. The chefs Tommy and David were amazing. I started with the waygu gyoza which was delicious, then moved onto the papaya salad which was refreshing, And then to the duck rolls. I don’t even like duck, but they were so good. Then we got into the heavy hitters. I then had the tuna belly, sushi, and the toro steak. Both of which will melt in your mouth. I was about to explode, but I wasn’t done yet. I finished off with the A5 waygu steak with the waygu fried rice. Chefs kiss. And to top it off I finished with the brownie. I could barely walk when it was time to leave but if I have to die, I’ll take a gourmet death. Do yourself a favor and eat here when you’re in Amsterdam.
10/10 overall experience at Lucky Duck. I was dining solo and the service (shoutout to Bram and Phoenix), food, drinks, ambience was literal perfection. I couldn’t fault any part of my experience. Would highly recommend and whenever I’m in Amsterdam I will def be dining here again. Thanks Bram for the flexibility with storing my shopping before you opened.
